I first met Hilary when my son, Luca, attended speech and language therapy at Lurgan Hospital under the Southern Health and Social Services Trust. Hilary took the initiative to implement changes that significantly helped my son find his voice. Alongside her dedicated team, including Justine Smyth and Linda Mulgrew, she spearheaded a quality improvement project that applied evidence-based practices. They focused on increasing the intensity of interventions for children facing severe speech sound disorders, as highlighted in their BMJ report. Her passion and commitment are evident in every interaction, making her an invaluable asset to the SLT community and a true advocate for children with communication challenges.
